International Chef to help with our learning!
Whoohoo!!!
Next term we will be continuing to look at our Kai Ora focus: looking at healthy eating and how food is grown, produced, created WHILE looking at our wasteful culture. How much food is going to waste in your household? Come rubbish day in the Kale household some weeks we are being so wasteful with food it's actually embarrassing! What a waste of money! Let alone all of the people in our world who don't have enough to eat.
Soooooooo our challenge is to look the the kai we are consuming; ensuring it is good fuel for our bodies, ensuring we aren't being wasteful, considering the packaging of our goods - where does this end up? What is the impact to our world?
We will be competing in a Maggie Pop Up Kitchen Challenge (thanks to Miss Smith for allowing us a T3 in the food tech room) and the top 5 recipes will have a chance to be created (and reviewed by the others in our class) from scratch.
I have contacted an inspirational, talented, amazing international chef - Sam Llewellyn and he is going to help us with some tips and inspiration for our recipes! Check his company website, Sabretooth Lifestyle, out on the link below.
